Survey on Attitudes Towards Social Welfare in Kamanga, Lusaka, Zambia

Description

This survey was conducted to ascertain the attitudes of low-income infromal sector workers towards social welfare. It uses conjoint analysis to determine how urban residents of Kamanga, an informal township in Zambia's capital city Lusaka, rate deservingness of social assistance on a range of attributes. Each respondent was presented with six randomly generated profiles, giving a total of 1,200 assessments of deservingness. Data for the study was collected using a survey of 200 households using a non-random sample of every fourth household.
