Food loss and food waste in a central province of Thailand: Dataset from 15 subdistricts in Saraburi Province
Description
Saraburi, a central province of Thailand, is considered a good agricultural area due to its location on the Pasak River's bank. A survey on household food waste and agricultural loss was conducted in 15 subdistricts from 7 districts in Saraburi from July 1st -26th, 2022. An online questionnaire was used to collect the data. 4006 data sets were collected. The size, occupation, and amount of food waste of 4006 households are reported as raw data. 741 households with farming as their primary occupation were filtered from this group. The farm area and the quantity of agricultural losses are displayed as raw data. Included are analyzed data on food waste in relation to family size and occupation. The analyzed data shows the farm area that creates agricultural losses for each farm type. The data can be used for strategic food waste reduction, agricultural loss reduction, and utilization planning. Data, raw and processed, are presented as follows: Table 1 Food loss from farm.
