Description

A unique database of geomagnetic storm events generated by SIR/CIRs separately from those, which were generated by ICMEs for the time interval Nov 2012-Sept 2015 (maximum of the 24th solar cycle) was created (will be available later). Beside the full list, which contains 103 ICME and 82 SIR/CIR-related geomagnetic storm event, we selected from these two list the clear storm events (42 ICME and 32 SIR/CIR). The lists can be downloaded here in .xls format. The clear ICME- and SIR/CIR related storm event list was used in the following publication: "Berényi et. al (2023), Impact of the ICME- and SIR/CIR-driven geomagnetic storms on the ionosphere over Hungary" Please cite this list properly, when you use it for your analysis. The following data were used to create the databases (for website links see below): 1. SC (Sudden Commencement) times were from GFZ Potsdam, Germany and ISGI (In-ternational Service of Geomagnetic Indices), Spain 2. ICME source dates and ICME comments were from different NASA websites. 3. ACE/WIND shock dates were from three different websites. Also we used the unique list of our co-authors, called Dalya & Opitz ACE ICME start and end dates (available as: Dalya, Zsuzsanna; Opitz, Andrea; Biro, Nikolett (2023), “Duration of ICME signatures in in-situ data from several space probes for the time interval of 2004-2021”, Mendeley Data, V1, doi: 10.17632/4zwbp8k7cr.1). 4. CIR, HSS catalogues were also used for the creation of our unique list. 5. Solar and geomagnetic indexes: The Dst-, AE- index and Dstmin times.
