Description

Subcortical brain volhis dataset contains anonymized volumetric brain measurements derived from MRI scans of adolescents diagnosed with chronic migraine without aura (CMwoA) and age-matched healthy controls. All volumetric data were obtained using the automated segmentation pipeline provided by VolBrain. Extracted variables include total intracranial volume (ICV), gray matter volume, brainstem volume, and subcortical structures such as thalamus, putamen, caudate, amygdala, and hypothalamus. Clinical variables include age, sex, headache duration, headache frequency, Visual Analog Scale (VAS) scores, and Pediatric Migraine Disability Assessment (PedMIDAS) scores. All data have been fully anonymized prior to sharing, and no personally identifiable information is included. This dataset is intended to support the findings of the associated research article and may be reused for academic and non-commercial purposes. umetric analysis in adolescents with chronic migraine wi

he dataset was generated from a retrospective cohort of adolescents diagnosed with chronic migraine without aura (CMwoA) and age-matched controls who underwent brain MRI for clinical indications. All MRI scans were reviewed to confirm the absence of structural abnormalities in control subjects. High-resolution T1-weighted MRI images were used for volumetric analysis. Imaging data were processed using the automated VolBrain pipeline (www.volbrain.net), which performs standardized preprocessing steps including denoising, bias field correction, spatial normalization, and tissue segmentation. The pipeline provided quantitative volumetric measurements of intracranial volume (ICV), total gray matter, brainstem, and subcortical structures, including the thalamus, putamen, caudate nucleus, amygdala, and hypothalamus. Clinical data were extracted from medical records and included demographic variables (age, sex), headache characteristics (disease duration, monthly headache frequency), and validated clinical scales such as the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) for pain intensity and the Pediatric Migraine Disability Assessment (PedMIDAS). All data were anonymized prior to analysis. Each subject was assigned a unique study ID with no personally identifiable information retained. The dataset contains only processed volumetric outputs and associated clinical variables; raw MRI data are not included due to ethical and privacy restrictions.
