Dataset for TPB, Data Security and Perceived Benefits
Description
This data is linked to the article titled "The Effects of Data Security and Perceived Benefits on Influencing UAE Mobile Phone Users for Recycling", This study examines the factors influencing mobile phone users' intention to engage in mobile phone recycling. These factors are from the theory of planned behaviour (TPB), but extended to additional factors, namely, data security and perceived benefits, to provide a new paradigm for analysing customer behaviour. The partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) procedure was used to analyse 601 results obtained in the UAE through a self-administered online survey. The results revealed that perceived benefits (either financial or environmental) and perceived behavioural control had the strongest and statistically significant positive effects on the intention of mobile phone users in the UAE to participate in reverse supply chain (RSC) processes like recycling or refurbishing. The effects of attitude and subjective norms were denoted as the second most positive influence. Contrarily, the effects of data security were significant but influenced only 7% of the UAE mobile phone users’ intention to participate in RSC processes.
