Summary The objective of this research is to analyze the teaching profile in the pediatrics postgraduate program at the Doctor Robert Reid Cabral Children's Hospital, in the City of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, in the period May-July 2022. A non-experimental study was designed, cross section, descriptive scope and mixed approach. Study population composed of 27 teachers, 21 first-year residents, 22 second-year residents and 19 third-year residents of the pediatrics postgraduate program at the aforementioned institution. Methods used: Inductive, analytical and synthetic. The teaching staff is female, aged between 31 and 50 years. It is concluded that the teachers have been in practice for more than 20 years, and the majority do not have teaching training, have not received training from the institution, are little motivated for research and are not taken into account when developing academic programs. First-year residents are the majority, predominantly female, ages between 26-36 years, all receive their academic program, where they apply the strategies, motivated, evaluated, considering these that there should be improvement, with updated sources, demonstrated mastery of content, participation is encouraged, doubts are clarified, residents' observations are accepted. The most used tools are: round table, clinical cases and scientific debate. They do not have available equipped classrooms, internet, or library for the pediatric residency. The teaching resources used are oral presentations and concept maps.
