The development of a measurement tool to track progress on health and economic growth: application to regional economies

Description

This dataset links population health to economic performance at the English local authority district (LAD) level. It includes (i) composite health outcome measures (HOI domains and factors) and selected health-profile components (HPI), constructed from the Public Health Outcomes Framework (PHOF), and (ii) regional economic and labour-market outcomes from ONS/NOMIS. Indices are derived using Principal Component Analysis (PCA) within domains and entropy weighting across domains. The dataset underpins the fixed-effects panel regressions reported in the manuscript and provides a WMCA (seven authorities) illustration for the Wider Determinants of Health indicator (2019–2022).
