Knowledge Sharing Behavior Data
Description
With the continuous iteration of knowledge economy, knowledge sharing is becoming one of the most effective means to maintain the continuity and creativity of organizational knowledge, and knowledge workers are thus increasingly vehicle and source of organization’s knowledge and culture. Meanwhile, because of fear of success, and having a prevention focus, knowledge workers may be inclined to share their knowledge in the workplace. Based on the resources conservation theory, this study focus itself on the investigation of the reversed impact mechanism and boundary condition of being envied on knowledge sharing. By way of a mediation (fear of success) and moderation (prevention) model, the study collects the data from a questionnaire of 410 knowledge workers in China, and the initial findings are: being envied of knowledge worker has a negative impact on knowledge sharing, while fear of success has a partial mediation; and, prevention focus negatively moderates the relation between being envied and knowledge sharing. The study enriches the researches of knowledge workers behavior, and of the influence of being envied in the organizational context, and it also provides some theoretical and managerial insights for useful knowledge sharing.
