These Alpine forests have unique ecosystem and is shaped by unique biodiversity. Certain resources like resin, timbre, paper are produced from such plants. Conifers are the world's tallest and heaviest plants and can survive harsh climatic conditions and survive at high altitudes . Smallest conifers is seldom taller than 30 cm and is found in Newzealand.
