The dataset describes the IFN-gamma in vitro production upon mycobacterial antigen and polyclonal (Phaseolus vulgaris hemmaglutinin, PHA) stimulation in a population of Mycobacterium tuberculosis-infected individuals (with either latent or active disease), as well as non-infected controls, for whom the IFNG+874 A/T polymorphism was genotyped. The study individuals were recruited in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. Sex, age and ethnic background are provided, as well as the number of CD3-positive cells in the blood sample evaluated and background IFN-gamma production (without stimuli).
