Description

Myricetin (MYR) is a flavonoid with a wide variety of beneficial effects and has been used for the treatment of different pathologies. It acts as a powerful antioxidant and a MMP and cathepsins inhibitor; in addition, it has a high potential for collagen cross-linking. These data show the mechanical and biological effects of MYR on the resin-dentin interface and odontoblast-like cells (OLCs). The dataset includes the raw data of MMP activity, microtensile bond strength (6 months and 18 months), failure mode, dentin microtensile strength, dentin elastic modulus, resazurin to evaluate the biocompatibility and the maintained DMP-1 and DSPP expression in OLCs using qPCR. Additionally, data on the amount of dye extracted from the cultures stained with alizarin red to evaluate the mineralization capacity of the extracellular matrix produced by the odontoblast cells exposed to myricetin. These findings are useful to compare the data with other flavonoids tested as MMP inhibitors and collagen cross-linkers.
