Description

Cumulative antibiogram data is necessary in supporting hospital-based empirical antimicrobial treatment for rationale prescribing. This study is the first known local antibiogram coordinated by multiple stakeholders across various disciplines and a great example of North-South collaboration that has harness technical support to improve techniques required to combat AMR and improve IPC in a Low and Middle-Income Country (LMIC). Three years of data from all samples sent to the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory in the Medical Research Council Unit were reviewed to aid in empiric antibiotic therapy and improve patient care
