Description

This dataset consisting of time series of wind speed and direction in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, in Oaxaca, Mexico. It comprises the data from two meteorological stations, one in Salina Cruz and one in Ciudad Ixtepec. The Salina Cruz data contains records from 2011 to 2019 with a sampling frequency of fifteen minutes and 36.6% percentage of missing values. On the other hand, the Ciudad Ixtepec data from 2015 to 2016 has a sampling frequency of one hour and 10.3% missing values. This dataset can be used to calculate the wind energy potential at the monitoring locations of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec. In addition, it can be used to test the performance of different data imputation methods, and test the validity of forecasting models.
