Description

The data presented here are related to the research paper entitled “The influence of cultural backgrounds and language proficiencies on Chinese logogriph solving”, showing the types and frequencies of logogriph-solving strategies used by Chinese as a foreign language (CFL) learners with different Chinese proficiencies and cultural backgrounds. Subjects answered the logogriphs through testing papers, and wrote down how they solved those puzzles during the process. The data were collected, calculated and checked by the authors and two researchers who did not involve in this experiment, and can be used to examine how CFL learners comprehend and process Chinese logogriphs.
