MATLAB Script
Description
The MATLAB script presented here undertakes series of cyclic stress-strain data analysis to compute cyclic mechanical properties. It calculates 7 properties: 1) Secant modulus 2) Unloading modulus 3) Young’s modulus, 4) Hysteresis energy 5) Irreversible axial strain 6) Irreversible diametral strain and 7) Poisson’s ratio. It starts with creating a raw data file in excel (.xls) incorporating the stress and strain data as obtained from experimental results. The syntax is created and the individual formula for calculating the above mechanical properties is fed into the MATLAB program. After creating syntax through MATLAB programming, input data is imported from the .xls file. The output data is obtained in MATLAB in the form of .csv file. The result is presented in the form of MATLAB graph which is introduced in the research article titled "Experimental analysis of damage evolution of strong and weak Himalayan sandstones under triaxial cyclic loading conditions" authored by Mainak Ghosh Roy and K.S. Rao.
