Description

Young's modulus of elasticity and True Stress-True Plastic Strain values are needed to execute a CAE analysis in solvers like Abaqus (Dessault Systemes, Velizy-Villacoublay, France). The Young's modulus of elasticity for bearing component of a Total Knee Replacement can be easily found in literature for e.g. Zelle et al (2009) used the value as 974 MPa, however the True Stress-True Plastic Strain values can be difficult to extract. Here the True Stress-True Plastic Strain values of bearing component are presented using the True Stress-True Plastic Strain curve published by Godest et al (2002). WebPlotDigitizer (Pacifica, California, USA), an online tool is used to identify and extract the coordinates of the True Stress-True Plastic Strain curve published by Godest et al (2002). This data can be used in the CAE model published by Kanyal (2021), or any CAE analysis concerning Total Knee Replacement; CAD model of Total Knee Replacement published by Kanyal (2021) can also be meshed and this data can be used with it as well.
