Description

The data contains two data sets of underground water flow problems using MOFLOW 6. The first one is the classical Darcy problem, simulated with a nested Locally Refined Grid (LGR) and using a Voronoi grid. The second one is a simulation of a classic 2D quarter five-spot problem, using several kinds of LGR and Voronoi grids. Result visualization can be done using ParaView (*.vtu file are given) or using TOUGH2Viewer. LGR grids can be visualized using ModelMuse 4.0 or higher.

Steps to reproduce

For Voronoi grid generation: 1. download VORO2MESH from https://site.unibo.it/softwaredicam/en/software/voro2mesh 2. copy voro2mesh.exe into the Voronoi_DISU_grid folder of the sample data set. 3. Open a command prompt and type voro2mesh [ENTER]. Alternatively double click on voro2mesh. The mesh will be generated. For the MODFLOW simulations: 1. Download and install MODFLOW 6 2. Copy the extracted folder from this dataset in the /example folder of your MODFLOW installation folder. 3. Run the simulation by executing the run.bat file For result visualization using TOUGH2Viewer 1. Download TOUGH2Viewer from https://site.unibo.it/softwaredicam/en/software/tough2viewer. Follow the instructions on how to install it. 2. open the output files for visualization and visualize them. Vtu file can be generated from TOUGH2Viewer for ParaView visualization. For result visualization using ParaView 1. Download and install ParaView 2. Open the vtu file.
