Description

The following tables are supplemental material for Ibarbalz et al. (2019), entitled Global Trends in Marine Plankton Diversity across Kingdoms of Life. PlanktonLDG_Shannon_table_MendeleyData.tsv -Shannon index for marine plankton samples (Tara Oceans expedition) derived from a combination of protocols, depths, size fractions and functional/taxonomic groups. -Sample identifiers, including ENA accession numbers for molecular samples. FlowCytometry_SplitSixGroups_TaraOceans.tsv -Samples analysed by flow cytometry (FACScalibur Flow Cytometer); data split in six groups according to size and optical variables: high/low DNA content prokaryotes, Prochlorococcus, Synechococcus, and two groups of picoeukaryotes. Here we report the abundances (cells/ml) per group and per sample from different water layers. Data from the Arctic Ocean is released for the first time.
