Dataset LATAM-AI WebAccess
Description
The LATAM-AI WebAccess dataset evaluates web accessibility in the official government portals of countries included in the Latin American Index of Artificial Intelligence (ILIA). The data was collected using the WAVE automated tool and focuses on compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 across the four accessibility principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust.

Steps to Reproduce LATAM-AI WebAccess Dataset Select Countries: Use the list of countries included in the ILIA (Latin American Index of Artificial Intelligence). Identify Government Portals: For each country, locate the official national government website (e.g., www.gob.pe, www.gob.mx). Use WAVE Tool: Access the WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool or its browser extension. Run Accessibility Scan: Analyze each portal’s homepage using WAVE. Record errors, contrast issues, alerts, and features. Extract Metrics: Note the total number of issues and categorize them according to WCAG 2.1 principles (Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, Robust) and levels (A, AA, AAA). Organize Data: Compile the results into a spreadsheet or CSV format with columns for country, URL, evaluation date, and accessibility indicators. Validate and Normalize: Standardize terms and ensure consistent structure across entries for comparability.
