Soap application alters mosquito-host interactions

Experiments were conducted to characterize the effect of soap application by human hosts on the behavioral response of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. Behavioral assays were performed using adult females of the Rockefeller strain (MR-734, MR4, ATCC®, Manassas, VA, USA) of Aedes aegypti. Body odor collections were performed according to procedures approved by Virginia Tech IRB protocol # 20-037. The raw data is stored in the enclosed Excel files, and the analysis steps are saved in the enclosed R scripts.
