Description

Pulp therapies propose different types of treatments to eliminate pulp disorders. Pulpotomy is one of the most popular treatments in the field of pediatric dentistry, which consists of removing the entire chambered pulp of the deciduous tooth that has been affected by trauma or deep caries. The aim of this descriptive quasi-experimental longitudinal study was to analyze the effect of Theracal PT on sensitivity and postoperative pain in biopulpotomies performed in the pediatric dentistry area of the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña in the period January-April 2023. January-April 2023. The results showed that the most predominant sex was male (64%). In terms of age, children aged 4 years predominated (29%), followed by children aged 4 years (29%). (29%), followed by children aged six years (21%) and, to a lesser extent, children aged eight years (14%). The degree of sensitivity and postoperative pain in biopulpotomies with TheraCal PT, immediate and 21 days, was 0%.postoperative cold discomfort at seven days was recorded in 1/28 patients in the age of five years (3.60%). Therefore, TheracalPT is effective in the postoperative pain and evolution of pulp therapy provided that a good pulp diagnosis has been made.

Steps to reproduce

Twenty-eight deciduous molars with a diagnosis of reversible pulpitis were evaluated for restoration with Theracal PT by means of three controls, immediate, seven days and 21 days. Two cards were created as data collection instruments, one for parents and one for children.
