Description

The use of anti-programmed death (PD)-1 antibodies could induce Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada (VKH) like posterior uveitis. We present two cases of VKH-like posterior uveitis that developed during anti-PD-1 antibody therapy for lung cancer. In Case 1, the patient presented with severe hyalitis and choroidal thickening. Multimodal ocular images led to a diagnosis of VKH-like uveitis secondary to anti-PD-1 therapy. Following cessation of anti-PD-1 treatment and oral prednisone, visual acuity improved. In Case 2, the patient experienced bilateral severe blurred vision. The left eye exhibited diffuse serous retinal detachment with choroidal detachment, which responds slowly to corticoid therapy. The right eye demonstrated wavy retinal pigment epithelium initially and then complicated with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment. Both eyes underwent vitrectomy with silicone tamponade. His visual acuity remained hand motions. This data contains all the original images and photographs of ocular examinations during their treatment.
