Description

Images from photomechanical optical fiber experiments. The core of the fiber was PDMS doped with GNP. The cladding was either PTFE or FEP. There are some datasets from GNP-PDMS/Oil/FEP optical fibers, where the castor oil acts as a lubricant. Matlab and Python scripts are included for analysis.

Steps to reproduce

Take a lot of images with a microscope at 0.5s intervals while illuminating an optical fiber (or use the ones provided). Do not move apparatus during experimental data run. Run the provided Matlab edge detection file after finding the regions of interest in an image. Run the provided Python script to fit the response function to the data. Depending on experimental conditions (example, pump power time dependence), the script may need to be modified for those changes in experimental procedures.
