Description

The data are responses of 800 Malaysian students from the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia who answered questionnaires from March to October 2013. The data are raw responses to the following scales: Locus-of-Hope Scale (4 locus-of-hope dimensions), Life Orientations Test-Revised (optimism scale), Satisfaction with Life Scale, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, and Relational Self-Esteem Scale. No means or subscale scores are computed in the raw data. Demographic information include age, sex, belief in religion.

Steps to reproduce

Participants were recruited from the University of Technology Malaysia research participants from March to October 2013. The survey was administered online, with one fixed sequence in the order of the scales and scale items. All participants indicated their informed consent in the online survey, and were given partial course credit for their participation. The data-gathering procedures and survey questionnaire materials were reviewed and approved the University Research Ethics Committee of the University of Macau.
