Description

This dataset include the both the scenario datasets and the Python and Julia code for the RCOT model with byproducts, associated with the publication "The Price of Byproducts: Distinguishing Co-products from Waste using the Rectangular Choice-of-Technologies Model" by Springer and Schmitt in Resources, Conservation, and Recycling. RCOT with byproducts is linear programming model based upon previous versions of RCOT and the World Trade Model. This version includes the option to specify byproducts for each sector and account for any byproducts that are not used as waste. It builds upon the RCOT model and includes bilateral trade.

Steps to reproduce

To reproduce the results from the paper, follow instructions in "ReadMe" of RCOT with Byproducts folder. Basically, run the scenario dataset (excel files) using the Python and Julia code. Visit https://github.com/npspringer for updated versions. Details on the source data and methods used to compile the scenario data are detailed in the publication "The Price of Byproducts: Distinguishing Co-products from Waste using the Rectangular Choice-of-Technologies Model".
