Mental health status of people during the lockdown in COVID-19 pandemic
Data were collected through a standard questionnaire prepared by using Google form. The link to the form was distributed on social media and personal email. The questionnaire had included 30 questions on different aspects like demography of participants, self-assessment of anxiety and fear, the effect of COVID on their lifestyle, the role of news and social media, attitude towards suicide, and possible ways to maintain people’s mental wellbeing at the time of the lockdown. The answers for the close questions were in 4 options (a) Never (b) sometimes (c) frequently (d) always. Most of the participants were from South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. Among the total, 159 were male and 101 were female. According to the profession, respondents were divided into students, healthcare providers, government services, private jobs, academics, and research. Maximum responses (72) belonged to the age group 26 to 30. Other age groups were found as 18 to 20, 21 to 25, 31 to 40, and 41 to 53.
