Replication Code/Data for Frame, Gerardi, Mayer, Xu, Zhao FHA Litigation

Description

This directory contains all of the Stata code used to produce the exhibits in "Government Litigation Risk and the Decline in Low-Income Mortgage Lending" by Frame, Gerardi, Mayer, Xu, and Zhao, published in the Journal of Financial Economics. The main HMDA dataset used in the paper is included in this directory, however supplementary FHA/HUD administrative data used in a few exhibits is not included because it was provided by HUD to the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta with the stipulation that it cannot be posted on a public website. There is code included that creates a pseudo dataset and constructs (fake versions of) the relevant exhibits.
