Image library for mesophotic benthic organisms: Lord Howe Island and Balls Pyramid, southwest Pacific Ocean

This dataset contains the image library of benthic organisms which was used to classify underwater imagery collected around the Lord Howe Island and Balls Pyramid shelves. Prior to image analysis, all images were reviewed and the suite of organisms observed were compiled into this reference library. Sessile benthic invertebrates and urchins were included into the classification. Other organisms were noted and are included into the folder "Unclassified_Organisms". Files are named with the terms used for classification, which are sourced from the CATAMI classification scheme (
