Description

Children diagnosed with ASD have difficulties in their social skills. Generally, they tend to be alone and their interaction with others is scarce. When they try to socialize, their skills are scarce or inappropriate -screaming, repetitive behaviors, stereotyped behaviors-, and therefore the possibilities of coming into contact with others are drastically reduced. In the search for intervention alternatives that favor the socialization of children with ASD, the strategy of peer mediation has been shown to be effective in developing social skills in these children (Trembath et al., 2009) The notes from the class in which the topic of "Peer mediation as an intervention strategy oriented to children with ASD" was addressed are presented.
