For all indicators, the data edited were those related to the urban population. The criterion for selecting the urbanised area was the proportion of the population living in urban areas (urbanisation rate). In order to assess the degree of inequality in the distribution of income and wealth among the urban population, the proportions of the population affected by income poverty (data from the National Institute of Statistics and Information, INEI) were converted to the total population in the urbanised area (data from the Peruvian Institute of Economics, IPE).
