Description

This data set is part of the manuscript entitled "Role of Fe(III) in the crystal chemistry of smectites on their dissolution properties: input from the synthesis" by D. Masson, V. Robin, E. Joussein, E. Tertre & F. Baron, submitted to the Journal of Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta. All the data set are including in one excel file. It contains: - one spreadsheet (Output_concentrations) with all concentrations of aqueous elements measured in output solution over time, for the three crystal chemitries and for all pH values investigated, - a second spredsheet (Saturation_indexes) with the saturation indexes values of the output solutions obtained at the stationary state, with respect to amorphous silica, Fe (Fe(OH)3) and Mg (Brucite) -bearing phases and each synthetic smectite according to the pH and the saturation indexes values of the output solutions relative to amorphous silica for experiments carried out with the three synthetic clay minerals and performed at pH 1.8 and pH 2, - and a last table (Experimental_conditions) which summarizes the experimental conditions of the study and corresponding to the Table 2 in the manuscript.
