Description

Abstract : Gender disparities have endured in society for an extended period. The significance of school textbooks and curricula in promoting gender equality and challenging existing gender stereotypes cannot be emphasised enough, despite the implementation of different initiatives. All elements of our educational system, such as textbooks, narratives, visuals, and illustrations, contribute to the development of gender stereotypes in young individuals. A comprehensive assessment of the New Policy 2020 was used to carry out a comparative examination of Indian educational establishments with the aim of pinpointing the deficiencies in our system, indicating that our country still has a considerable distance to go in attaining SDGs 4 and 5. The scholars have furthermore suggested several methodologies and potential resolutions with the objective of transforming India's educational environment and fostering academic fairness and inclusiveness. This paper investigates the proposals of the Education 2030 Framework for 'Revitalising Public Education in India to Ensure Gender Inclusivity.' It also presents a multi-sectoral approach to empower women as a necessary condition. Conclusion : India's quest for a 100% literacy rate is well known, with the status of females in rural areas being particularly dire. Based on the 2021 data from the NSO, females have a greater percentage of discontinuing their education in comparison to boys. As the COVID-19 epidemic spread globally, the situation inside the nation worsened, leading to a significant increase in the number of female students who dropped out of school. The Indian government has just introduced a novel educational strategy. Widespread implementation is now a significant obstacle. Based on the research, the strategy had positive effects on both students and academics. However, it was crucial to prioritise and promote gender equality as well. In order to remain current, education for the next generation of students must largely focus on the increasing dematerialization and digitalization of economies, which requires the acquisition of an entirely new set of skills. This necessity has become even more essential today as the pandemic is accelerating the shift towards digitalization and disruptive automation. Ensuring the successful implementation of the new education strategy will heavily rely on its integration with other government initiatives, regardless of its admirable aims. Consequently, by actively including the business sector, policy links may ensure that the process of learning evaluates and draws lessons from India's experience in establishing vocational education curriculum and assuring their effectiveness. on order to effectively respond to rapidly changing transformations and disturbances, it is necessary to rely on decision-making that is grounded on solid facts. The inclusion of real-time evaluation tools and a participatory monitoring and review mechanism in the NEP is commendable and inspiring. This will be a remarkable accomplishment in its own right. The NEP 2020 signifies a significant turning point in higher education. If the NEP 2020 is effectively and punctually implemented, it has the potential to be genuinely revolutionary. The destiny of the New Education Policy 2020 will be determined by the political will and the accompanying system. The common school system has not yet been implemented owing to the political class's lack of vision, so it remains unrealized. The NEP 2020 capitalises on the enduring enhancements in India's education system. In addition to the government's ambitious nation-building mega-programmes and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), it facilitates essential and basic institutional enhancements. The quality of education for future citizens will depend on how well the federal and state governments address significant challenges in implementation. Five proposals were generated from the latest investigation. Given the nature of this study being theoretical, researchers have the opportunity to use these principles in order to formulate hypotheses and then test them using the data that is accessible.
