Description

This research aims to reduce the educational gaps between rural and urban contexts, a real challenge in education. The objective is to propose theoretical and methodological approximations of the repertory grid model in the rural context in order to encourage the critical reading process in intermediary education students. The theoretical basis are Cassany (2009), who contributes with writing ideology management; Cázarez (2006), who avails in pro of critical reading; Sánchez (2010), regarding communicative competence; and Murillo (2009), claiming that discourse must be observed as a social act. The study will follow a qualitative approach to interpret and understand the reality.

Steps to reproduce

The study will follow a qualitative approach to interpret and understand the reality. It will be designed as an Action Research Process (ARP) and its main objective of providing a response to a detected problem. The ARP is defined by its cyclical nature. This “spiral” model has four stages: clarifying and diagnosis, formulating strategies, employing and evaluating the strategies, and action and reflection. The subjects will be thirty-five (35) tenth grade students of the Loma Departmental Educational Institute of the Bálsamo (Institución Educativa Departamental Loma del Bálsamo).
