Digital Capability and Green Innovation as Drivers of Sustainable SME Performance

This repository provides the dataset used to investigate digital capability, environmentally oriented innovation, and sustainability outcomes among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in West Java, Indonesia. The dataset contains responses from 200 SMEs representing several business sectors, including manufacturing, creative industries, food-related businesses, and services. Respondents were owners or managers with knowledge of their firms’ operational and strategic activities. The survey captures three main areas of organizational practice: Smart Digital Capability, Green Innovation, and Sustainable Performance. The variables cover aspects such as the use and integration of digital systems, data-supported operations, environmentally oriented improvements, resource efficiency, waste reduction, and longer-term business sustainability. Responses were recorded using five-point agreement scales. The dataset is made available to support transparency, replication, and further empirical research on the interaction between digital transformation and sustainability in SMEs. It may also be useful for comparative studies examining digital capability, environmental innovation, and sustainable business performance in other industries, regions, or emerging-economy contexts.
