Steps to reproduce

These data were obtained from the ERA5 reanalysis model of ECMWF that is freely available for research users. The ECMWF dataset is widely used in various studies as alternative for long-term continuous surface-based observations that provides various type of global variables include atmospheric, land and oceanic climate. These data contain monthly average of wind and wave data that cover the entire Malaysian peninsula and the surrounding seas which were stored in netCDF format. The wind and wave data covered the period from 1990 to 2021 at 30km spatial resolution. In particular, wind speed data were obtained at 10 m height. Additionally, the significant wave height (SWH) variable was selected for wave dataset. These datasets were stored in multidimensional structure that consist of several dimensions comprise of space (latitude, longitude), time (month) and attribute variables (speed and SWH).
