This repository provides the processed data, variable descriptions, and replication codes for the study “Digital Infrastructure and Urban Green Transition Gains, Adjustment Frictions, and Resource Dependence.” The study uses a balanced panel of 278 Chinese prefecture-level cities from 2012 to 2023 to examine the impact of the “Broadband China” pilot policy on urban synergistic pollution and carbon reduction efficiency (SPCR). The dataset includes city-year variables used in the empirical analysis, including SPCR, the Broadband China pilot policy indicator, green technological innovation, energy efficiency, resource-based city classification, urban vitality, labor-market adjustment variables, and city-level control variables. The replication codes can be used to reproduce the main empirical analyses, including the baseline difference-in-differences regressions, dynamic effect tests, placebo tests, robustness checks, mechanism analyses, heterogeneity analysis based on resource dependence, labor-market response analysis, spatial spillover analysis, and the tables and figures reported in the manuscript. Some original source data were obtained from third-party databases and official statistical publications. Due to data licensing restrictions, these original raw data cannot be redistributed in full. The processed data and codes provided here are intended to support transparency and reproducibility of the empirical results.
