Field data on Vegetation Structure and Effects of Human Use of the Dambos Ecosystem in Northern Mozambique

Description

The available raw data is in excel spreadsheet and is related to the original research article entitled "Vegetation Structure and Effects of Human Use of the Dambos Ecosystem in Northern Mozambique" that was published in Global Ecology and Conservation Journal: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.gecco.2019.e00704. And the data in brief article, entitled "Field data on Vegetation Structure and Effects of Human Use of the Dambos Ecosystem in Northern Mozambique". The woody and grass vegetation was inventoried in the dambos wetlands of the Niassa National Reserve (NNR), the largest Protected Area (PA) in Mozambique and the third largest in Africa. The six dambos assessed were selected through Google Earth, MODIS satellite images and exploratory field visits. Raw data in an Excel spreadsheet provided, includes woods tree, grass data and its cods of the headings on the first, second and third sheets respectively. In the column headings (from left to right), are given the number of the assessed dambo, number of transect, direction of the assessment within the dambos (right and left), name of the species and the family, and total height (h). This information is the same for both woody and grass vegetation. Additional information provided specifically for woody vegetation includes diameter at breast height (dbh) of all trees with a dbh over 5 cm or basal diameter (D) for all trees under 5 cm of the dbh.
