Inter-Municipal Mobility Dataset for Assessing Service Quality and Urban Resilience in the Aftermath of the 2024 DANA Floods: Evidence from Alfafar, Benetússer and Sedaví (Valencia, Spain)

Description

This dataset contains anonymized inter-municipal mobility records collected in the province of Valencia (Spain) during comparable one-week periods in 2022, 2023 and 2024. The data were extracted to support the assessment of urban mobility patterns and public service quality before and after the catastrophic DANA (Depresión Aislada en Niveles Altos) flooding event that affected the metropolitan area of Valencia in October 2024. The complete dataset includes mobility records for the province of Valencia during the following observation periods: 2022: 22 October – 28 October 2023: 14 October – 20 October 2024: 26 October – 1 November For the empirical analysis presented in the associated master's thesis and the derived scientific publication, the study focuses on the municipalities of Alfafar, Benetússer and Sedaví, three of the areas most severely affected by the 2024 flooding event. The repository contains three R serialized data files (.rds): data.2022.rds data.2023.rds data.2024.rds Each record represents aggregated mobility information including temporal, spatial and socio-demographic characteristics of detected trips. All data have been anonymized prior to publication. No personally identifiable information is included in the repository.
