Description

INTRODUCTION: Decreased mobility and response to stimulus can be caused by lack of balancing control. Reaction time and proprioception has been observed to be altered in individuals with balance impairment. An individual’s ability to maintain balance or motor skill might be affected due to any pathologic changes like proprioception and reaction time. The Sensamove Sensbalance Miniboard is an instrument for sports training and rehabilitation since it can be easily adapted as per the user’s needs and talents. OBJECTIVE: To find the test-retest reliability of proprioception and reaction time using Sensamove Sensbalance Miniboard among healthy Indian young adults. The study will record major to minor neglected changes in balance. Therefore, it will help to analyse balance in a more accurate manner. METHODS AND MATERIALS: Healthy Indian young adults aged 18 to 25 years will be recruited after fulfilling the selection criteria. The demographic data of the participants such as age (years), height (cm), weight (kg) will be taken. The participants will be assessed for reaction time and proprioception using the sensamove sensbalance Miniboard. For test-retest reliability, the measurement will be done in two sessions with gap of one week in-between first and second session. Each session will be for 30 to 45 minutes.
