Description

This database accompanies the article, "Balancing signature variance between local and global minima/maxima: Restricted maximum likelihood (REML) and the search for plagioclimax" forthcoming in Ecological Informatics journal. The database will enable the user to learn to identify plagioclimax sub-regionally from existing land-cover (LC) data through signature extension. The database is comprised of data developed for the Judean foothill region of Israel in the Ceratonieto-Pistacietum lentisci typicum judaicum (CPLTA-J) vegetation sub-association. Included are 11 steps described in the .pdf file, "Manspeizer-Karnieli_2025_Ecological-Informatics_REML-Plagioclimax-Mediterranean_DATA-LIST-INSTRUCTIONS" in tended for use with the original spatial data files and the Excel workbook, ""Manspeizer-Karnieli_2025_Ecological-Informatics_REML-Plagioclimax-Mediterranean.xlsx".
