Design and performance analysis of a micro-displacement worktable based on flexible hinges
Description
To investigate the maximum output displacement of the flexible hinges and examine the performance of the flexible hinges. The FEM (Finite Element Method) model of flexible hinges was established. AISI 1045 steel was selected as the material of the model. Figure 7 shows the relationship between the stress of the flexible hinges and the input displacement. The output displacements of three flexible hinges are calculated using FEA. When the stress of the danger points is less than allowable stress, it can be seen input displacement and output displacement have linear relationships. The results are shown in Figure 8 and Figure 9. The flexible hinges were tested on the test platform. Then the experimental results are compared with simulation results. Figure 11 shows the experimental results of the X(→) and Z(→) direction of flexible hinge A. The experimental results of the flexible hinge B and hinge C are shown in Figure 12. The flexible hinge assembly was tested on the experimental platform. The experimental results for the direction of X(→) and Z(→) of the flexible hinge A are shown in Figure 13a. The experimental results for X(︵) and Z(︵) displacement of the flexible hinge B and hinge C assembly are shown in Figure 13b.
