Description

The data set contains the solar global horizontal radiation for Zimbabwe at a resolution of 0.5 x 0.5 degrees longitude x latitude grid resolution. The database is developed by merging ground measured and satellite measured data using a method in the journal article: 11. Hove, T., E. Manyumbu, and G. Rukweza (2014). “Developing an improved global solar radiation map for Zimbabwe through correlating long-term ground- and satellite-based monthly clearness index values.” Renewable Energy 63: 687–697. The data has been validated by the authors to have a maximum normalised root mean square error of less than 3% in predicting ground truth radiation.
