Description

These software and design files enable replication of an autonomous surface vehicle for surface water water quality monitoring: the Naval Operating Research Drone Assessing Climate Change (NORDACC). NORDACC can navigate to pre-programmed waypoints to acquire discrete surface water samples while continuously measuring sea surface temperature and sea surface salinity whilst underway. Flushable valves and plumbing prevent cross-contamination between water samples. A first-person-view camera enhances situational awareness for the remote operator. NORDACC runs LabVIEW on a National Instruments MyRIO. Engineering students at Aarhus University designed, constructed, and validated the NORDACC as part of their Mechatronics project.
