Description

The need to perfect business growth through supply chain performance is increasingly altered by poor focus on process innovation to enhance sustainable growth of Flour Mills Nigeria (FMN) Plc Lagos. Empirically, the study examined the need for facility management, inventory management and information management as enablers of supply chain in a competitive market. The study was supported by Resource Dependence Theory (RDT). Research questions and hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. Survey research was adopted and Taro Yamane sampling formular was used to figure out the sample size of 379 out of the population of 1,734 staff. A structured questionnaire was developed, confirmed and reliability of the instrument was evaluated using Cronbach Alpha reliability, and hypotheses were assessed with Pearson Product Moment Correlation using SPSS. Findings derived from the study show that facility management in supply chain enables the organization to run, support, improve, and adapt to building organizational infrastructure. Inventory management aids in organizing, storing, and replacing inventory with the aim of keeping an adequate supply of goods and minimizing costs in the supply chain. Information sharing in the company integrates supply chain for transparency and offers opportunities for efficient planning based on exact information. The study concludes that facilities, inventory, and information management are competitive weapons which are aligned to enable efficient flow of resources for achievement of supply chain goals of the organization. It recommends among other things that facilities manager should ensure continuous use of facilities in supply chain to enhance delivery of service for achievement of business goals based on effective management of warehouse, ability, location, flexibility, for better performance. Management should continuously adopt inventory management as an enabling practice in the supply chain to guarantee the availability of organizational resources and guide the achievement of set goals of the organization.
