Implementation trajectories of U.S. Chemical Safety Board recommendations: Processed data and reproducibility materials
Description
This dataset supports a longitudinal study of implementation trajectories for recommendations issued by the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board (CSB). The study uses a fixed CSB recommendation snapshot current to the June 9, 2026 Board vote. The primary analytical sample contains 826 recommendations from 100 incident investigations and classifies recommendations into site-level action, corporate-level action, industry standards and guidance, and regulatory and enforcement action. Implementation completion is treated as the event of interest, other terminal closures as competing events, and recommendations still under follow-up as right-censored. The package contains processed analytical data, coding and mapping documentation, analysis code, reference outputs, and validation reports for Aalen-Johansen cumulative-incidence analysis, investigation-level cluster bootstrap inference, fixed-window generalized estimating equation models, sensitivity analyses, and exploratory subtype analyses. The complete official CSB source file is not redistributed; the source location, fixed snapshot date, source record count, and preserved-source checksum are documented in the source manifest.

Steps to reproduce
Download the repository files without changing the folder structure. Create a Python environment using the package versions listed in requirements.txt. Run `python code/run_all.py` to execute the processed-data analysis pipeline. The full workflow is computationally intensive because several modules use repeated cluster bootstrap procedures; modules may also be run individually. Compare regenerated outputs with the reference files in the outputs folder. Confirm that `code/99_validation_audit.py` ends with `VALIDATION AUDIT: PASS`.
