Description

Merged annual dataset for Brazil (1970-2021, N=52) containing ecological footprint and carbon footprint (Global Footprint Network), GDP per capita, natural resource rents, and urbanization (World Development Indicators), and human capital index (Penn World Table 10.01). All variables in natural logarithms. Includes constructed interaction term Ln(LG)×Ln(HC).

Steps to reproduce

All estimations were performed in Stata/MP 17.0. To reproduce the results: (1) Open the .dta file in Stata. (2) All variables are already in natural logarithms. The interaction term Ln_LG_HC is constructed as Ln_LG * Ln_HC. (3) Baseline ARDL-ECM: ardl Ln_LEC Ln_LG Ln_LNA Ln_LU Ln_HC Ln_LG_HC, maxlags(2 2 2 2 2 2) aic ec. (4) NARDL: generate positive and negative partial sums of Ln_LG using Shin et al. (2014) decomposition, then estimate ardl Ln_LEC Ln_LG_pos Ln_LG_neg Ln_LNA Ln_LU Ln_HC, maxlags(2 2 2 2 2 2) aic. (5) Carbon footprint model: replace dependent variable with Ln_LCF. (6) Marginal effects: use lincom after ARDL estimation at p25, p50, p75 of Ln_HC.
