Description

This dataset contains the experimental design and measured responses reported in Table 3 of the attached manuscript. It includes 41 experimental runs from a combined central composite design applied to end milling of AISI 1045 carbon steel. The dataset reports the coded levels of the control factors feed rate (fz), depth of cut (ap), and cutting speed (Vc), as well as the noise factors tool wear (Vb) and cutting fluid concentration (C). The response variables are surface roughness (Ra) and specific cutting energy (Ec). Missing measurements are preserved as reported in the manuscript. The data were transcribed directly from the manuscript table and are provided to support analysis, reproducibility, and further modeling of the proposed RPD-sigma level approach.

Steps to reproduce

1. Refer to Table 3 of the attached manuscript. 2. Transcribe the 41 experimental runs exactly as reported. 3. Preserve missing values as blank/NA where the original table shows “-”. 4. Use the coded factor levels and response values as the dataset. 5. If needed, decode the factor levels using Table 2 and Eq. (9) from the manuscript.
