Description

This dataset is provided as a supplement to the work entitled "Process Management in IoT Operating Systems: Cross-Influence between Processing and Communication Tasks in End-Devices", published in MDPI Sensors Journal. This work focus on process management in IoT Operating Systems from the Edge Computing perspective. Specifically, we have carried out an empirical study of the cross-influence between processing and communication tasks in sensor end-devices. We have performed a set of experimental tests by changing the Radio Duty Cycle (RDC), the Processing Task Duty Cycle (PTDC), the processing task type and the priority scheme of the different tasks. For each test, we obtain the average throughput, latency and wait time of the processing task. This way, we can evaluate the influence that the PTDC and the processing task type have in the communication performance. In addition, we can also evaluate the process management influence by changing the priority scheme. In the opposite direction, the RDC parameter is changed to evaluate its influence on the processing task wait time.
