This study investigates the empirical association between income inequality and economic growth in South Africa from 1989 to 2018. The study uses annual time series data from 1989 to 2018. The length of the study is based on the availability of data. We obtain the data from the World Development Indicators (World Bank), 2022, Quantec EasyData, 2022, Penn World 10.0, Chartbook of Economic Inequality by Atkinson et al. (2017) and Standardized World Income Inequality Database (SWIID) 9.2.
