This supporting information includes detail analytical methods for carbon-oxygen isotope analyses and major-element analyses (Text S1), representative outcrop and photomicrographs of the sampled stratigraphic units (Figures S1 to S6) and C-O isotopes and major-element compositions of the sampled stratigraphic units (Tables S1 to S2).


Steps to reproduce

Carbon-oxygen isotopes were analyzed by using a Thermo Fisher Finnigan MAT-253 mass spectrometer at the Analytical Laboratory of the Beijing Research Institute of Uranium Geology and 15 samples were reanalyzed by using a same mass spectrometer at the State Key Laboratory of Geological Processes and Mineral Resources of China University of Geosciences, Wuhan. Whole-rock major-element analyses were performed using a Rigaku ZSX Primus II X-ray fluorescence at the Wuhan Sample Solution Analytical Technology Company Limited.
